HEAD CHEF – 4 day week – independent restaurant - £35,000 + tips & bonus –
A great opportunity for a talented Head Chef to join this independent, family run restaurant. They specialise in regional Italian cuisine, with an emphasis on Southern Italian flavours.
There is a brigade of 4 chefs and they make everything in house except the bread and pasta, which are sourced from artisan suppliers in Italy. The focus here is on the quality of the produce and the menus change regularly to reflect the seasons. As Head Chef you will be responsible for the full day to day running of the kitchen designing menus, costing, stock control, ordering and training, motivating and mentoring the junior staff.
Alongside the restaurant they also have a small café and deli offering a limited lunch menu, cakes and ice cream. The restaurant has been established for five years and they are now making plans for another site, so career prospects are excellent.
The ideal Head Chef will have had previous experience at a senior level, within a fresh food kitchen and really enjoy cooking. A good knowledge of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine would be an advantage, but is not essential.
